About GSCC:
This position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation. Through our work, we aim to contribute to a world with a safe and stable climate for current and future generations. We hope to build broad support for just, inclusive, and equitable solutions to the climate crisis. Our philanthropically funded work focuses on media debate and public discourse at the global level and in major economies across Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and the Americas. We support a diverse range of partners across sectors and geographies, helping them add their voices, views and insights to the conversation.
GSCC is currently accepting applications for an enthusiastic and highly driven individual to join the Norway strategic communications team as Digital Campaign Strategist within an international network of communications professionals in the field of climate and energy.
GSCC network members work as part of a global network of communications experts to enhance the public debate on climate change and its solutions, and deliver strategic advice, communications and outreach support to partners. The successful candidate will use social and digital media to build and sustain engagement on climate change with key audiences in Norway.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced digital communications specialist with the ambition to make a difference and play an active role in helping speed up the transition to climate neutrality and helping to avoid the worst impacts of global climate change.
How you'll contribute
Develop integrated digital strategies for campaigns, events or other smaller communication initiatives (e.g. political decision making moments, UN climate conferences, report launches), including defining target audiences, platforms, content messaging and creative content for a range of channels;
Be a strategic advisor to partners in the Norwegian green movement, act as a resource for partners on best practices in digital communications, providing strategic advice and hands-on support to amplify key projects and/or media moments;
Support partners in Norway to become more digitally literate and amplify each others’ work
Identify appropriate target audiences for always-on campaigns, and plan campaigns to drive & deepen engagement with them over time;
Work with influencers: mapping, pitching, managing relationships that go beyond individual campaigns;
Manage budgets, milestones and deadlines for multiple projects. Furthermore, measure and report results, and create recommendations for future campaigns
Ensure partner suppliers meet or exceed contracted tasks and deliverables.
Build relationships with other digital campaigners and organisations in the climate field and develop smaller project ideas
Our ideal candidate has
Fluency in Norwegian and English;
A solid experience using digital for strategic communications and/or campaigning, including developing digital strategies
A proven track record in campaign management, including audience selection and identification, message development, identifying and landing campaign moments, integration with other channels and activities around these moments;
Significant demonstrated experience in both project management, including scheduling, budget, time management across multiple projects and multiple countries;
Experience in using data to inform decision making, including pivoting campaign strategies and budgets;
Knowledge of the Norwegian political & climate debate;
Ability to work flexibly both independently and in a team;
Willingness to collaborate on ideas, campaigns and projects that extend beyond day-to-day tasks
